About the Orchestra

Orchestra Portrait

We are an orchestra serving Montgomery County and the greater Washington, DC area, dedicated to education and cultural enrichment through the enjoyment of symphonic music. While our name is new on the local music scene, we have been playing together as a group for the last twenty years under the leadership and the baton of Joel Lazar, one of the Metro area's most talented conductors. We provide an opportunity for local volunteer musicians, including select high school students, to play orchestral masterworks with great locally based soloists--while giving you the chance to hear wonderful music in your own backyard!

Share our passion for music! Contribute to the Symphony of the Potomac for our inaugural 2008-2009 season. Enjoy music that you will love, played by musicians that you will love.
