This is a short summary of the orchestra's policies on attendance and performances. Please read the
full Policies statement and print a copy for your own records.
Rehearsals
- Regular rehearsals are held Thursday evenings from 7:45 to 10:15 PM. Exceptions are noted in the schedule.
- The pre-concert warm-up starts at 6:30 pm. All members should be on stage ready to play at 6:30 pm.
Concert dress: Basic Black
- Men: tuxedo with white shirt and black bow tie. A black suit may be substituted for the tuxedo.
- Women: long black, either slacks or a skirt, with a black shirt or blouse.
Tickets
We are working on this policy at this time.
Music
- All parts are to be signed out on the sheet provided and returned immediately after each concert.
- If you are absent from a rehearsal, your parts must be available.
- If your music is not returned immediately after the concert you will be charged full purchase price
for all parts.
- If you must ship your music back to the librarian, we urge you to pay for a shipping service that includes
a tracking number. This way, you can verify your music has been received. Yes, we have had problems with
first class mail.
Bad Weather
- Rehearsals will be held whenever possible. If we must cancel a rehearsal, or if our rehearsal space is closing, we will send out an email to all members on
our mailing list and initiate phone calls through our assigned phone tree.
If you are unsure about rehearsal status, you can call Joel, either personnel manager,
or the librarian for a report.
- If you must miss a rehearsal due to weather, please notify the music director or the appropriate personnel manager immediately
and make sure your music is available if needed.
