The Symphony of the Potomac is a community-based, primarily volunteer orchestra under the direction of Joel Lazar. The orchestra provides Montgomery County and the Greater Washington area with the opportunity to enjoy symphonic music at a reasonable price.
We gave our inaugural performance as an independent orchestra in June 2008, having previously played together for nearly 40 years as the Jewish Community Center Symphony Orchestra in Rockville, Maryland.
We are proud that we continue to perform at the Cultural Arts Center in Silver Spring.
Concerts frequently feature acclaimed artists such as pianists Rachel Franklin, Alon Goldstein, and Sayaka Jordan, violinists Ricardo Cyncynates and Amy Beth Horman, cellist Steven Honigberg, clarinetist Alex Fiterstein, soprano Rebecca Littig, and the Marcolivia violin/viola duo.
The Symphony of the Potomac, Inc. is a non-profit corporation chartered in the State of Maryland. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, organized and operated exclusively for charitable, literary and educational purposes. Your contribution is tax deductible.
